Smither Park is dedicated to the memory of John H. Smither. It embodies much that he cherished: family fun and creative endeavors, while being mindful of our responsibilities as humans.

As a partner and management committee member of Vinson & Elkins law firm, a board member of The Orange Show Foundation and President of the Houston Ballet, the Houston community benefited from John’s wise counsel for many years. He strongly believed that art brought beauty, civility and inspiration to our lives. With his creative vision and intellect, he believed anything was possible.

The Orange Show Foundation and the Smither family would like to thank the artists and friends who share his vision and passion for the arts that inspired Smither Park.
